IMPACT works closely with the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and understands that for some of our Iron Worker signatory contractors, being AISC certified is a prudent business decision. AISC certifications ensure that contractors have the personnel, knowledge, equipment, experience, procedures and capability to produce quality work. Having an AISC certification improves consistency of operations and demonstrates commitment to quality, often setting themselves apart from their competition.

IMPACT has long maintained a program to assist our member contractors achieve AISC certification. As of August first, 2025, IMPACT’s Board of Trustees decided to change this program to be more streamlined while also fiscally responsible.
If a member contractor did not leverage the previous program and they utilize AISC’s “Pre-Assessment/Gap Analysis” (an optional service when applying for certification), when they become certified, IMPACT will reimburse the complete cost of that optional service.
Note: The only fee IMPACT will reimburse is the “Pre-Assessment/Gap Analysis”
The AISC is a non-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States. For more information, visit www.aisc.org.
