“Keep in mind that while the developers and engineers are planning, we too must be working on the same project. Through research tools provided by IMPACT and political action at the local level, the membership gained man hours in the field. IMPACT provides research tools for our Local Unions and signatory contractors in order to prepare for development and assist developers who will utilize our members and contractors.”
Dan Aussem Executive Director Illinois Valley Contractors Association LaSalle, IL
IMPACT is a labor management partnership designed to provide a forum for union Ironworkers and signatory contractors to address mutual concerns and encourage reasonable balanced solutions. The IMPACT Regional Advisory Boards extend this approach, creating a national labor-management network, which promotes discussion of issues affecting the industry as a whole and enables the creation of effective strategies for resolving concerns to create opportunities for the union ironworking industry. Our primary mission is to expand job opportunities through progressive and innovative labor management cooperative programs.
IMPACT is overseen by a board of trustees composed of an equal number of labor and management representatives. IMPACT members are Ironworker Local Unions and Signatory Contractors who are committed to increasing the competitiveness and market share of the union ironworking industry. IMPACT is funded in equal parts by the contributions of its labor and management members who have elected to include IMPACT in their collective bargaining agreements.
IMPACT is a 501c nonprofit and is classified as a 302c9 organization under the Labor Relations Act.
