IMPACT is a labor management partnership designed to provide a forum for Ironworker
Local Unions and their Signatory Contractors to address mutual concerns and
encourage reasonable balanced solutions. IMPACT’s regional and national programs
extend this approach, creating a national labor-management network, which promotes
discussion of issues affecting the industry as a whole and enables the creation of
effective strategies for resolving concerns to create opportunities for the union
ironworking industry.
The primary mission of IMPACT is to expand the job opportunities for union
Ironworkers and their Signatory Contractors through progressive and innovative
labor management cooperative programs. IMPACT is a joint,
labor-management, non-profit trust formed under Section 302(c) (9) of
Labor-Management Relations (Taft-Hartley) Act.
IMPACT is overseen by a Board of Trustees composed of an equal number of Labor
and Management representatives. IMPACT's members are Ironworker Local Unions
and their Signatory Contractors who are committed to increasing the
competitiveness and market share of the union ironworking industry. IMPACT is
funded in equal parts by the contributions of its labor and management members
who have elected to include IMPACT in their collective bargaining agreements.
